Industrial Cluster: 1 Million Spindle Cotton Spinning Project Settled In Kashgar, Creating The Largest Whole Industrial Chain Cluster In Central Asia

On May 7, Xinjiang Investment and Development (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xintou Group") signed an investment agreement with the People's Government of Kashgar City on the 1 million spindle cotton spinning project. When the project is put into operation, it can transform about 150000 tons of high-quality cotton every year, strengthen the independent and controllable ability of the supply chain of Xinjiang's cotton textile industry chain, and provide a solid guarantee for the high-quality development of Xinjiang's cotton and textile clothing industry.

It is reported that the project is located in Kashgar Central Asia South Asia Industrial Park, with a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan and an area of 1200 mu. It will build a full industrial chain cluster covering spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, and clothing. After the completion of the project, it is estimated that 3500 local people will be directly employed.

Xinjiang is China's largest cotton production base, accounting for more than 90% of the country's cotton output. The high-quality development of Xinjiang's cotton and textile and clothing industry is related to the safety of China's cotton supply and the stability of the textile and clothing industry chain supply chain. In recent years, cotton, textile and clothing industries have been included in Xinjiang's "Top Ten Industrial Clusters", and accelerating the transformation of advantageous resources has become the core goal of industrial development.

"The project is a key layout to improve the local transformation of cotton in Xinjiang and ensure the security of national strategic resources." Hu Jinsong, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of SIIC Group, said at the signing ceremony that he would adhere to the concept of "high-quality investment and high-quality development", give full play to the advantages of capital, technology and management, and work with Kashgar City to ensure that the project is put into production on schedule.

Kashgar is an important fulcrum city in the core area of the "Belt and Road". It has the location advantage of "five ports connecting eight countries, one road connecting Europe and Asia" and the policy advantage of Kashgar area of China (Xinjiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Adequate cotton resources, abundant labor reserves and convenient transportation and logistics network lay a solid foundation for the development of the textile and clothing industry. At present, we are making every effort to build a whole industrial chain cluster from cotton planting, spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing to clothing design and brand marketing.
