From May 1, 2022, Myanmar will implement the RCEP agreement with the RCEP Member States, and China will also grant preferential tariff rate to the goods imported from Myanmar that are applicable to the RCEP origin standard (as of the time of publication, the remaining RCEP Philippines and Indonesia have not yet come into force).

The second member of customs affairs reminded: when importing and exporting to Myanmar, relevant enterprises should comprehensively consider which of the "certificate of origin of China ASEAN Free Trade Agreement" or "RCEP certificate of origin" is more preferential according to the origin standard of goods. According to the regulations of the people's Republic of China on import and export tariffs and the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement (RCEP), and the entry into force of RCEP for Myanmar, the agreement tariff rate applicable to ASEAN member states of RCEP shall be applied to some imported goods originating in Myanmar from May 1, 2022; The tax rate of 2022 is listed in the agreement tax rate column of the "tariff rules of the people's Republic of China (2022)" (notice of the Tax Commission No. 10, 2021, annex), and its corresponding Chinese abbreviation is "ASEAN R".
