Our domestic market environment is not very ideal for supporting the growth of designers, and the commercial operation of designer brand lacks its own experience, and it lacks the support of the entire industrial chain and financial platform. All of its capital is invested in brands, Internet and channels, but no one really supports and helps designers to make works and products, and designers rely on fate to fight alone. This puzzles me very much. Of course, it is also very much looking forward to becoming a designer. It is difficult to continue to produce good works, and become a successful business enterprise and become a great brand. It is a very difficult road and requires persistent efforts. For China's local designers, this is probably the best era. We all hope that we can seize the opportunity to show ourselves.
Every designer will face many practical problems or constraints. What do you insist on in the design? How do you balance the unique ideas of designers and the commercialization of market demands?
这确实是个长久困扰设计师的问题,我认为一个好的设计师,最重要的就是有好的品味,只要我们能问自己一句话:你真的认为自己设计的衣服穿在身上美么?坚持做直指内心的设计,当然目标是市场接受,有人原意穿你做的衣服才是成功的,设计师不是一味求新求怪的炫技者,品味的精准到位永远比展现技巧和花俏的创意更高一筹,我认为从某种意义上说,设计师更像一个工匠,有自己的美学原则和逻辑,坚持自己格调和品位,终生追求品质;我们任何一个人的设计都并不能取悦每一个人,却可以打动一个特定的人群,对一种美的偏好产生共鸣,所以归根结底,最重要的还是设计师本身的审美水平和综合能力的修炼最为重要。
How do you think the independent designer can walk out of the ivory tower? Do you think there are more ways to promote the real development of independent designer industry besides the form of designer buyer shop?
The independent designer and designer brand is very small. It should be the same. Even in the European and American market, which is very developed in the fashion industry, there are a large number of "small and beautiful" independent designers / brands. They can never be very commercial. In other words, they can not and do not have to do very much, that is not their ideal.
Buyers shop together with the products of independent designers, docking channels and market resources, making more consumers easier to choose designer brand goods, but they can not change the living environment and business models of independent designers. The designer brand is the two industry which is very different from the commercial production brand. The industry chain, profit mode and marketing operation are totally different. The pursuit of the entrepreneur and the founder of the minority brand is also quite different from that of the designer. So I would like to say that before engaging in this industry, everyone should think about what he really wants, otherwise he will be entangled and tired all the time. The so-called "talent" is that you know that you are the material for doing this job. There is no other choice. No matter how difficult it is, you can eat this bowl of rice. This kind of determination is "talent". Accumulation is a process full of workmen's mind. You have to see good things, like good things, and have the ability to make good things personally. This is the most important condition for becoming a designer.
We often pay more attention to the visual impact and business miracle brought by the international fashion brand, but we do not understand the history behind it, all kinds of contingency and inevitable factors. It is easy to find that the most beautiful women and the most classic fashion images in the world have both these two qualities and do the best.
The fashion trend is changeable, but the beautiful image and connotation are inseparable. The beauty that persists in the heart will always turn out endless creativity and inspiration. In the design of every season, what I need most is to control my endless ideas and concentrate on the application and presentation of a few elements. Restraint and subtraction are my homework. In this way, I can make the works series have a clearer fashion language expression. It seems that the lack of inspiration has not bothered me. Maybe this is a rare and unstressed form of designer brand.
