Japan'S Comprehensive Fashion Group RENOWN Revised Its Procurement Standards.

RENOWN group has more than 2000 fabric suppliers in China, Japan and other countries, and directly and indirectly supplies half of China's fabric suppliers.
To promote effective implementation of the work, the meeting gave a clear time line map.
All suppliers are required to complete the registration of the whitelist management system from July 2015 to March 2016.

The Ministry of labour and welfare issued Decree No. 175th, revising the control law on harmful substances in household products (No. 112nd of the 48 year of the Showa law). The official azo dye, which can be decomposed carcinogenic aromatic amine, is officially listed as a harmful substance and is restricted to use in textiles. The decree will be put into effect in April 1, 2016.
In response to the requirements of the regulation, the Japanese comprehensive fashion group RENOWN revised its procurement standards and held a supplier briefing meeting in Tokyo on 25 and 26 June 2015 in accordance with the regulations on the use of azo dyes in textiles.
RENOWN group has more than 2000 companies in China, Japan and other countries.
Fabric supplier
Direct and indirect Chinese fabric suppliers account for about half of the total.
The presentation will be mainly for domestic suppliers in four fields, with 350 supplier representatives attending the meeting.
More than 100 people in charge of various business departments of the RENOWN group also attended the meeting to listen to the company to ensure that the company's countermeasures were put in place.

1. introduces the requirements of the Japanese Regulations for not using specific azo dyes.

At the meeting, the head of the RENOWN group made clear requests to all suppliers: submit inspection reports to the materials supplied by the suppliers, or join the white list management system of the China Textile Corporation, and submit the "no use of azo dye undertaking" through the system to ensure the effectiveness of the commitments and carry out the responsibilities.
In view of supplier management, RENOWN also has its own supplier whitelist.
With the implementation of the Japanese laws and regulations, the responsibility of enterprises has increased. RENOWN has formally requested all suppliers to adopt the third party management certification and traceability function through this briefing.

All the Chinese dyeing enterprises involved will be certified by the white list. They will no longer accept the paper undertaking from China from April 2016. The "no use of specific azo dye undertaking" will be submitted through the registration system of the white list management system.
In order to adapt to the trend of multi nationalization of garment processing business, the head of the white list office said that the white list management system is based on the management certification of Chinese dyeing enterprises. When the conditions are ripe, the management objects will be extended to the textile dyeing enterprises in Southeast Asia, Korea and Japan. At the same time, if necessary, other objects will be added, and the white list will truly become a worldwide supply chain safety management system.
In line with the preparation and needs of enterprises in connection with the implementation of the Japanese laws and regulations, the spinning network of the operating system of the white list management system has decided that until the date of March 31, 2016, that is, before the formal implementation of the Japanese law, except the dyeing enterprises need to carry out the white list qualification certification, all other enterprises, namely Chinese export enterprises, sewing processing, fabric suppliers, and Japanese Importers, wholesalers and retailers, can use the white list registration system free of charge.
The RENOWN executives agreed with each other and asked suppliers to invite their upstream companies to join the whitelist management system.
When the issue of textile safety becomes the focus of consumers, the RENOWN meeting will undoubtedly play a leading role in the promotion of the white list management system.
The Chinese head of the white list management system also claims that it will continue to improve the system and push forward the white list management system to other countries other than China and Japan, so as to ensure smooth trade between countries.

The white list management system is jointly established by the China Textile Industry Federation and the Japanese Fiber Industry Alliance. It aims at active management of harmful chemicals in the textile production process, building a green supply chain, providing consumers with safe and traceable textile products, and ensuring that Japanese textile products comply with the legal requirements of Japan not using specific azo dyes, so as to avoid the batch inspection of textiles, reduce the paction costs of enterprises, and ensure the smooth trade between China and Japan.
Before March 31, 2016, Chinese exporters and Japanese buyers used the white list registration system for free.
