The Yiwu inspection and Quarantine Bureau recently seized the first case of infringement of intellectual property rights in Beijing Olympic Games, with a total of 96 cases, worth 1536 US dollars.

With the approaching of Beijing Olympic Games, some merchants' "edge ball" and "muddy water" phenomenon have risen.

At the end of June, when the Yiwu inspection and Quarantine Bureau carried out on-site inspection of a group of children's sandals exported to Jordan, it was found that the shoe sole was marked with "Olympic Fuwa" image mark and marked the manufacturer.

The staff immediately launched an investigation and verified that the manufacturer had no authorization from any organization to use the "Olympic Fuwa" image mark without authorization, which was suspected to infringe the intellectual property rights of Beijing Olympic Games.

In order to severely crack down on violations of intellectual property rights in Beijing Olympic Games, the Yiwu inspection and Quarantine Bureau pferred the case to the Municipal Bureau of industry and Commerce for inspection and punishment.

Here, the Yiwu inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminds enterprises and foreign trade business units that no Olympic enterprise shall be allowed to use the Olympic symbols listed in the catalogue of exclusive rights to the Olympic symbols for commercial purposes without the permission of the Olympic right holders, otherwise, they will constitute infringement.
